– BRÍD FITZPATRICK, AWARD WINNING SCREENWRITER, PRODUCER & DIRECTOR
I was born in Connemara on the West Coast of Ireland and raised amongst ancient storytellers in rain-drenched lands. This landscape and its people have inspired and influenced my work ever since.
My love of literature led to an English degree at Birkbeck , University of London. Never far from my Irish roots, I went onto a Royal Society of Arts Degree in Irish Literature and History.
As film was ultimately my greatest passion, I completed my education with a Masters’ Degree in Filmmaking at Goldsmiths, University of London. My first short film, ‘Waves Without Sound’ was selected by the British Film Council, screened internationally and won the Audience’s Choice Award at the Galway Film Festival. Since then, my short comedy, ‘Marmite Sisters’ has won multiple global awards.
